Tour Guide.
Journalist.
New Canadian.
Torontonian.

For years, I’ve been walking people through Toronto’s streets, telling them the official stories. But the more I learned, the more I realized the real stories – the ones about how this city’s cultural infrastructure was built, how neighborhoods evolved, how communities shaped what Toronto became – those stories don’t make it into the standard tours.

I came to Toronto as an immigrant and became a tour guide – which means I learned this city’s history the way you’d learn a language: by immersion, repetition, and constantly asking ‘but why?’

Toronto with a T is where I tell those stories.

I’m a journalist with 300+ published articles covering culture, community, and the scenes that make cities come alive. My work has explored everything from underground hip-hop to immigrant entrepreneurship. But this site is different – this is where I document the history that explains how Toronto actually works.

I started this site in 2024, then life happened (immigration paperwork, survival jobs, the usual newcomer chaos). Now I’m back, with citizenship papers, a clearer sense of direction, and a backlog of stories about the people and moments that built this city’s cultural identity.

If you want Toronto history that connects the past to the present, told by someone who had to learn it from the outside in – you’re in the right place.
